Meet Dr. Amy Rock

Partner

Dr. Rock was born in Japan, but spent her early childhood in Maui and then later Henderson, Nevada where her family moved when she was 8. Her love for animals began when her family adopted a German Shepherd and tasked Dr. Rock with training him. She also took up horseback riding at a young age and knew by the time she reached high school that she couldn’t see herself being anything other than a veterinarian. Dr. Rock attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas and graduated with a Bachelors in Biology. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2019, with a focus in small animal and equine medicine.

Dr. Rock loves getting to know the families behind the furry faces she sees every day. She enjoys seeing all types of cases, but has a special interest in surgery and enjoys continuously learning new surgical procedures and techniques.

“The Rock Pack” includes Samson (a Texas stray turned therapy dog), Athena (a Vegas-born Pitweiler), and adventure-cat Kubo (a Colorado rescue who enjoys hiking and camping). In her free time, Dr. Rock loves cheering for the Vegas Golden Knights, working on DIY projects, and spending time outdoors with her husband and two young boys. Fun fact about Dr. Rock is that she is bilingual, being fluent in both English and Japanese.
